Active Positive-Definite Matrix Completion
In the FindCandidates function (line 4), Select finds all the single edges that can be added to the current mask graph GΩ while maintaining its chordal structure. To do that, we make use of the clique tree data structure as introduced by Ibarra [1]. Given a graph G = (V,E), the clique tree is a tree C = (VC , EC), in which each node is a maximal clique of G, i.e., VC ⊂ 2 . In our case the numbe...
متن کاملHyperspectral CNN Classification with Limited Training Samples
Hyperspectral imaging sensors are becoming increasingly popular in robotics applications such as agriculture and mining, and allow per-pixel thematic classification of materials in a scene based on their unique spectral signatures. Recently, convolutional neural networks have shown remarkable performance for classification tasks, but require substantial amounts of labelled training data. This d...
متن کاملCovariance estimation with limited training samples
This paper describes a covariance estimator formulated under an empirical Bayesian setting to mitigate the problem of limited training samples in the Gaussian maximum likelihood classification for remote sensing. The most suitable covariance mixture is selected by maximizing the average leave-one-out log likelihood. Experimental results using AVIRIS data are presented.
متن کاملCovariance Estimation For Limited Training Samples
In Gaussian maximum likelihood classification, the mean vector and covariance matrix are usually estimated from training samples. When the training sample size is small compared to dimensionality, the sample estimates, especially the covariance matrix becomes highly variable and consequently, the classifier performs poorly. In particular, if the number of training samples is less than dimension...
متن کاملPositive definite solutions of some matrix equations
In this paper we investigate some existence questions of positive semi-definite solutions for certain classes of matrix equations known as the generalized Lyapunov equations. We present sufficient and necessary conditions for certain equations and only sufficient for others. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. AMS classification: 15A24; 15A48; 42A82; 47A62
